Our local drama scene… whenever they make stories of ‘anak durhaka’ they’d give a really really extreme example of children who kicks their parents, who calls them bad names and humiliates them in public. A classic would be Fauziah nawi as the mother who had raised her children in a very hard life and they grew up to be profesionals. Yet, ungrateful brats at the same time. So it was easy to see that the child was at fault. Very very angelic mother against monstrous children.. how clear can you get?

They should start exploring more delicate issues in family relationship. Why not do a story that swaps the character ( ‘naughty’ parents and goody two shoes children) and teach the wider public onto how one should approach the matter of menghormati orang tua in that sort of situation. I think real life is more complicated for that and I think the viewers are prepared to watch something that requires them to think for a little bit.

Second thing.. the whole country went berserk with Lina Joy’s case but have you any idea how many cases of perbuatan menyekutukan Allah is happening all around Malaysia? Sometimes I feel like passing the addresses of these people who practice ilmu bomoh and menyongsangkan kehidupan orang lain to JAI and have them fined or rehabilitated!

God.. seriously… I need my tea.
