Smiling is infectious, you catch it like the flu
When someone smiled at me today, I started smiling too
I passed around the corner, and someone saw my grin
When he smiled I realised, I’d passed it on to him
I thought about that smile, and I understood it’s worth
A single smile, just like mine,could travel round the earth
So if you feel a smile begin,don’t leave it undetected
Let’s start an epidemic quick,and get the world infected!

This verse was in one of the wards and so far my rotation has been awesome.

Paediatrics has always been one of my interest but I never had a solid reason as to why I want to pursue it.[ ya ya.. I know that I’ve mentioned I hate medicine sometimes but it’s not that i could get out of it, aite?] Although it is my main focus of infection affection, I am still open to other career options such as anasethesia, ENT and psychiatry. It’s because a career in paediatrics has always been associated with low pay and really hard work. I don’t mind the low pay, I’m not in it for the money but it’s the amount of time I have to put in to my work.

I mean I want a family of my own. A husband and I want to raise my kids all by myself. Lately I’ve been thinking that it is not wise to grow old alone. So, ignore my previous ‘crap’ about living life as a single mother with my adopted kids. It’s against the fitrah, so it must be bad. And I have found one ‘bad’ to it. It’s just a matter of finding that imperfect-husband-that-seems-perfect-to-me. So if you’re single and I’m over this mourning mode, gimme a ring 😛 for I will assume all guys are taken unless proven otherwise. Hehe.. just kidding, dont you dare call me! I mean it.

I haven’t been able to interview any paediatricians yet on their work life bla bla. It would be good to find a mentor in that field. Well, I somehow think that each medical student should have a permanent tutor (dr) to watch over them throughout the medical school years. Just in case students like myself ( who is inclined to self-torture) drifts away.

Ok.. back to work.
