I’ve had the ‘cheese and onion’ book with me for nearly five years now. It’s not in a mint condition anymore. A bit dog-eared and the pages have gone fluffy from all the raindrops and accidental beverage spills. Yet, it is a very magical book. For everytime I read it, I seem to find new information and trivial facts. It makes me wonder then if I had skipped that part or had I read it but not thoroughly absorbed it into my brain. Sometimes I realize that I understand things differently as to how I saw it say, a few years ago. They are a bit clear and less complicated as I had thought it would be. Amazing, huh?
I like to think that it applies to humans too. We grow with time and change subtly as we respond to the people and environment around us. We then begin to see the world differently. Or discover new things about the people close to you. It’s like being married to someone for many years, only to realize that he/she has 6 toes on your 50th wedding anniversary!
