Im sure that some of us have been in a situation where you’d just sing along to the song without any thoughts of what it meant or what the proper lyrics are. Only to realize the depth of the whole thing when the song struck a cord in your heart or when someone else corrects you of the right words.

How many of us enjoyed this song in secondary school not knowing at all what it actually meant? Everytime I listen to this song, I couldnt help chuckling like Chucky trying to remember what I’d have thought when singing this song when I was 13. Unaware of the obvious sexual connotations. H aha.  

2. Christina Aguilera – Reflection

When I was in my first year of medical school, I worked part-time as a student accommodation cleaner during the summer. Back then, there wasnt many of us and so we had like one building allocated to us to be finished over a period of days. So there I was in this 6 storey building all by myself with my cleaning stuff singing my heart out because I knew that no one was listening.

I was cleaning the mirrors of a bathroom while singing this Mulan soundtrack and all of a sudden I had goosebumps when I reached this part.

Immediately I looked away from the mirror. Wishing at the same time that an unfamiliar face wouldnt stare at me. I calmly picked up my things. Did not run. Used the lift. Pretended to not panic and once I reached the lobby, I ran out. Then I told my supervisor I needed an early break. Ha ha ha.
